I am 50 years old, a native of Ipee town in Kwara State, Nigeria, West Africa with a degree in B. Sc (Honours) in Business Administration (1986) and M. Sc. in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology (2000) and Ph. D. in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria (2011).
I have twenty-seven (27) years post-qualification experience (1986 - to date) and for the past 22 years, a staff in the Institute for Agricultural Research (I. A. R., Samaru) of Ahmadu Bello University (A. B. U.), Zaria, Nigeria. I have held responsible position as Head, Publications and Information Unit (1989 - 96), and 2007 to date during which I have supervised and assigned duties to both senior and junior staff of about 12 people comprised of editors, graphic artists, media relation officer, photographers, press attendants, typesetters, typists and messengers. Currently, I am a Chief Editor (on HATISS 13/11) the employment of the above-named institute/university.
Consequently, I am familiar with routines of university administration and its primary functions in research, teaching and extension.  Furthermore, I have to my credit, published journal articles and many published articles in magazines and newspapers. Also, I have edited and co-edited some special publications, proceedings and reports. In addition to the foregoing, I am computer literate, and can work efficiently on Desk-top publishing (DTP) applications MS WORD, COREL DRAW, data base softwares like MS EXCEL, and SPSS 9.0. Added to these, I have a considerable exposure on internet (world wide web) and surfing capabilities. I have created web pages with these urls: 

STATEMENT OF PERSONAL RESEARCH FOCUS /ACADEMIC PLAN:

1.      Discipline: Given my background and antecedents, coupled with my mission in the world, to be exemplary in my chosen field of disciple (i.e. Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology). I will build my career in the specific disciplines, namely; Innovation and Change, Extension Communication with emphasis on the contemporary paradigm shift.
2.      Philosophy: To be guided by a philosophical orientation based on the fundamental truth and its advocacy.
3.      Practicality: To serve as a human catalyst in ensuring increased and sustainable agricultural production based on well-articulated national policy that is capable of transforming Nigeria into a food secured nation and eliminate abject poverty.
4.      Focus: To remain focused, resolute and determined in the discharge of my work, duties, responsibilities with ethical vibrancy and fervency in impartation of knowledge to others.
5.      Agenda: To set a target of turn-out of 3,000 students/decade, 60 Postgraduate students/decade, and be driven by mentoring spirit.
6.      Abilities: Over twenty years (20) editorial working experience in production of magazines, newsletters, academic journals, conference proceedings, annual reports. Added to this were; supervision of the printing, distribution and storage of the range of publications. Efficiency in writing and graphic presentation of publications with the aid of appropriate applications like; MS Office and Publishers, Adobe Page Maker.
7.      Contributions: To contribute meaningfully and genuinely to human development in the academic, research and community services. Allied to this, is the bedrock readiness to be part of the new generation of promoters and creators of citadel of institutions nation-wide in the 21st Century.
8.      Techniques: Being versatile in the usage of computer and associated applications like MS Windows softwares (Windows ME, XP, Vista and Windows 7), and such applications as MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint; to strive in fulfilling my mission through appropriate deployment of the instrumentality of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), multi-media facilities, and ultimately ensure effectiveness in  their usage  specific to transfer of knowledge.
9.      Leadership: To use judiciously my faculty in providing an exemplary leadership, lead various research groups within my Department and the larger University Community where I may belong.
10.  Environment: To promote a working environment devoid of rancour, hegemony, tribalism, ethnicity, religious bigotry, and division.
